Lao Grilled Chicken (Pieng Gai)

  • 2 lbs chicken wings split
  • 3 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp coconut aminos or soy sauce or tamari
  • 2-3 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ cup finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper


  1. Pat chicken wings dry, add to a bowl or ziplock alongside all of the ingredients.

  2. Mix until everything is well combined and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  3. Air fryer method: add chicken wings to basket and cook for 22 minutes at 360F shaking halfway through.

  4. Grill method: over medium-high heat for 20-22 minutes flipping halfway through.

  5. Broil method: broil for 20 minutes flipping halfway through.

  6. Serve with sticky rice!
