I’m a Whole30 certified coach! …now what? Let’s talk about the Whole30, answer some questions, and talk about some of my goals as a coach!
Well, if the title of this post didn’t give it away, I’m officially a Whole30 certified coach! This has been a goal of mine for 2018, and I’m so excited it’s come to fruition! First and foremost, I have to thank The New Primal for picking me as one of their five scholarship recipients.
Without their love, support, and help, I honestly wouldn’t be writing this blog post. From start to finish, they have been by my side and I am eternally grateful for them. Not only do I have their support, but I’ve made four new friends, and it’s awesome to have this relationship with four other people who went through the motions with me.
You should give them a follow on IG. From left to right, top to bottom: Vincent, Jennifer, Dominique, and Judith.
If you’re completely brand new here, and don’t know what the Whole30 program is, I highly recommend scoping out their website here, and following their social media platforms here and here. Essentially, the Whole30 is a 30 day health reset that is a great jumpstart if you want to start your health and wellness journey, if you want to change your habits/relationship with food, and/or if you want to find probable causes to any of your ailments (i.e. eczema, psoriasis, migraines, anxiety, and etc).
This is done by eliminating certain groups of foods (sugar, grains, dairy, legumes, alcohol, and certain additives) for 30 days that can affect you physically and mentally. At the end of the 30 days, you have the option of reintroducing those foods one at a time to see how your body responds.
I did my first round of Whole30 back in June 2014, and to say it changed my life would be an understatement. Since then I’ve guest post on the Whole30 Recipes Instagram account, I started my own my blog, and have created dozens upon dozens of Whole30 compliant recipes.
I’ve coached friends and family, and have been a resource for my community. I truly believe the Whole30 can be a stepping stone to figuring out a diet that works perfectly for you. It was the catalyst to me breaking free from calorie/point counting, and to becoming at peace with my relationship with food in my food freedom.
With that being said, I want all of you to reap the benefits of the program, and now that I’m a coach I can guide you through the process! So what does that mean for a dash of dolly? It means I have a new tab on menu bar when you go to my homepage. That’s pretty much the only change happening around here, but here are a few answers to some questions I’ve received when I won the New Primal scholarship:
Why are you a Whole30 certified coach?
I have been a strong advocate of the Whole30 after my first round, and want as many people to reap the benefits of it like I have from my rounds. I’m a Whole30 certified coach not only for my community, but most importantly, for the marginalized group of people who are underrepresented in the health and wellness community. My goal is to show people that doing the Whole30 can lead to living a healthy and vibrant life, and that doing this program is accessible to all demographics. Being a coach will allow me to reach out to a group of people who are intimidated to do the program because they feel they are not represented whether it be because of race, gender, socioeconomic status, body type, lack of cultural representation and etc. My goal is to continue to make waves in the health and wellness community to end the pretentious stigma, and that doing programs like the Whole30 doesn’t require fancy trips to a health store.
Will you still be sharing Whole30 content?
YES! I will still be posting recipes and other Whole30 related content here for everyone. None of that will change. Even if I’m not coaching you, I want all of you to have a successful Whole30 experience during and after the program.
Why do I need a coach?
Check out this article written by fellow Whole30 coach Samantha Prescicci, MCN, RDN, LDN, CPT, Whole30 Certified Coach, and creator of Mindful Bites: 11 Reasons to Hire a Whole30 Certified Coach. There are multiple reasons to hire a coach. I know during my first round, I would have loved to have someone guide me through it so I wasn’t so overwhelmed. It’s also really nice to have that extra support. Plus, don’t you want to virtually hang out with me for at least 30 days?! 😉
Will you coach a group of my friends/family and me?
Yes, for sure! Get a group together and let’s chat. Contact me here. It’s always fun to do a round with a group of people you can lean on throughout the 30 days.
Will you being coaching one-on-one?
Of course. If you need individual coaching during your Whole30, I am here for you. Be sure to contact me here, and we’ll chat about what you’re looking for during your round.
What other services do you provide?
Right now, I’m only a certified Whole30 coach. So all of my coaching services pertain to the program. I am not licensed to do anything outside of that, but will be happy to refer you to other coaches who might be licensed in what you looking for.
Where do I sign up? How much does it cost?
You can contact me here to learn more about my services! I can’t wait to connect and work with you!
Now that I’m a coach, what are some of my goals you ask? For one thing, I want to continue to make the Whole30 as inclusive and accessible as possible for all demographics. That’s always been a priority of mine, and I’m so excited that I have the support from the Whole30 team to continue to make waves in the community. Representation and inclusion is so important to me, and it truly matters.
Outside of that, I plan to get certified to teach yoga, and eventually want to do things that combine the two (i.e. retreats, local events, and etc). I’m so excited to see my vision come to life, and I’m even more excited you all are here to experience it with me! I appreciate everyone’s support through this process. I’m eternally grateful!
