“A goal without a plan is just a wish.”
Well, it’s 2018! Can you believe it?! I feel like it was just yesterday I was writing down my goals for 2017, but here we are starting a brand new year. I say goals because I will be the first to tell you I don’t believe in resolutions. I do believe in making attainable goals throughout the year and setting plans & intentions to accomplish them. I like to make monthly goals and then break down that goal to weekly and/or daily goals. I’m thinking this will be a monthly series I start because I need to be held accountable. I have big plans for 2018, and I want to be sure that the least I’m doing is working towards those plans on a daily basis!
Goals for 2018:
- Travel more
- Grow blog into a business
- Be my own boss
- Create e-cookbook
- Get yoga and boxing certified
- Become a Whole30 coach
Goals for January:
- Increase blog traffic from December
- Get at least 30 minutes of daily body movement for January challenge
- Read (at least) two new books
- Start working on e-cookbook
- January Whole30
Increase blog traffic from December:
Weekly: consistently post 3x per week
Daily: work on new content and promote on social media platforms
Daily body movement challenge:
Weekly: go to boxing class 3x per week
Daily: practice yoga every morning, get outside for daily walks when possible, rest when I need to
Read two new books:
Daily: read for at least 30 minutes before bed instead of scrolling through social media
Start working on e-cookbook:
Weekly: recipe test 2 new recipes for cookbook and blog, decided which will go where
January Whole30:
Weekly: grocery shop and meal prep on Sundays or Mondays, take weekly photos of face to see acne progress
Daily: plan my three meals for the day, stay accountable on Instagram, check in with community
Well, there you have it! Some of my goals for 2018 and some of my goals for January. Here are some of my intentions:
- Be present and aware of my surroundings
- Be flexible and remind myself “progress not perfection”
- Listen to my gut feeling
- Say no without explanation when it does not serve me
- Say yes when it scares me in the best way
- More in real life face time with friends and family
- Throw more dance parties for myself
- More love and kindness to myself and others
- Stay authentic and true to my voice
- Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude!
Now, some of this may change, and I’m allowing myself to let that be okay. It’s one of the things I’m working on. In the past, I would be so dead set on things and didn’t allow any flexibility or room for growth because I set these guidelines for myself and felt that I had to uphold them. I’m learning to let go and let life happen. I hope you all crush your goals this year. Happy 2018, friends!
